Leadership and Governance for Psychosocial Health

The Leadership and Governance for Psychosocial Health (LGPH) Program of the Bridging Leadership Institute aims to support government and the private sector in advancing solutions to psychosocial problems such as addiction, depression, and suicide.

Using the Bridging Leadership, learners will learn to engage diverse stakeholders and navigate through the many conversations needed to co-create psychosocial health programs at the community, municipal, city, and provincial levels.

UHC 205: Leadership and Governance for Psychosocial Health (LGPH)

Designed for elected officials and health professions who want to advance the local health agenda, the Leadership and Governance for Psychosocial Health (LGPH) program builds upon the gains of the DOH-Zuellig Family Foundation's Health Leadership and Governance Program and Galing Pook awardees to brings to mobilize local stakeholders to become co-producers of psychosocial health services.

Offered as a ladderized eight-module program over 18 months, LGPH guides elected officials and other health leaders in deploying their Bridging Leadership skills in addressing issues of psychosocial health such as suicide, dementia, and drug addiction. LGPH localizes the Mental Health Gap Action Program of the World Health Organization into a series of practical initiatives at the local level.

LGPH will work through a network of academic partners so that learners spend less time away from the workplace. For each module, learners deploy new knowledge and tools at work during the practicum projects. Drawing from leadership approaches such as Bridging Leadership, design thinking, and Problem-driven Iterative Adaptation, learners will get immersed in a transformative experience that is expected to take them beyond the traditional understanding of leadership, power, and authority.

Web- and mobile-based learning materials shall provide complementary learning platforms to help deliver just-in-time learning at the workplace. Face-to-face, remote, and peer-coaching will help learners ripen insights from respective LGPH leadership projects.

The Health Innovation Roadmap allows partners to co-create public value and achieve desired End Game scenarios faster.
