Ownership (Pag-ako)
Ownership or "pag-ako" in its deepest form draws from empathy for the other. A Bridging Leader recognizes that the quality of life of
another individual is his/her own concern and that it is up to the individual to respond to this need, whether or not some other organization or agency is in charge of this problem, whether or not the individual has the budget or mandate coming from somebody else to address this problem.
Self-study Questions:
1. Where does ownership or "pag-ako" come from?
2. How is "pag-ako" or acceptance of ownership of the problem and solution, initiate the change in the drug user or the helper?
3. How is "pag-ako" the beginning of the journey toward rehabiliation?
